15 sites included in the World Heritage Tentative list

Fifteen sites from Nepal have been included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) World Heritage Tentative List.
The list was registered with the UNESCO on January 30, 2008.
Constituent Assembly Elections in Nepal successfully held

The election for the Constituent Assembly is held successfully in Nepal on April 10. The event passed off peacefully with minor cases of violence being reported.
The life around the country is back to normal with businesses and transportation running as usual. Travelers who enjoy to drink at bars now can do so as the pre-election ban on the sale of liquor has expired.
The season for mountaineering has begun. Trekking in the hilly area is pleasant at the moment with beautiful rhododendrons blossoming in these regions.
As per the published early results, the former rebels have emerged as the single largest party in the constituent assembly. So threats, obstructions and extortions from them should not be an issue now. The industry hopes that the travelers now can enjoy Nepal without any fear of election related violence which was feared before the election.
Constituent Assembly Election and Travel to Nepal

Travelers to Nepal need to plan their visits if their schedule is around April 10, the day when the Constituent Assembly election takes place.
The border with India will remain closed for at least three days, in some places starting from April 8. So travelers coming to Nepal from India should avoid using the road to come to Nepal. They could use the air service instead of the road transportation.
On the election day, little public vehicles run on the streets. Vehicles need permits to ply on the streets. However, this does not affect the vehicles of the service industry, which will pick and drop them from the airport.

Tourist numbers continue to rise

Tourists arrival by air has continued to rise with an increase of 17.3 percent in the month of March compared to the same period last year.
The factors attributed to this rise are better air connection, political stability and confidence on the part of entrepreneurs selling Nepal as a destination.
The combined tourists arrival to Nepal in the first three months posted a healthy increase of around 16 percent.
