Tibet open for tourists

June 25th, 2008

Tibetan tourism officials have opened Tibet for the tourists to visit. This decision was taken after officials feel that the situation in Tibet is normal for the tourists to visit. Tibet was closed for foreign tourists after the anti Chinese riots in March.

This is a good news for the tourists visiting Tibet. It is also a good news for the Nepalese tourism entrepreneurs as many tourists visiting Nepal would also go to Tibet. Many of them have been suffering from the loss of business due to the ban on the foreign tourists visiting Tibet.

Life around the country has returned to normalcy from today after the transport entrepreneurs ended the transportation strike. The agitation was called off as they reached an agreement with the government regarding an increase in the transportation fares. Public vehicles were off the roads from Friday as the entrepreneurs insisted that the fare rates approved by the government is insufficient to meet the rising fuel costs.

Private vehicles and tourist vehicles were seen plying on the road even during the strike period.
