You could take your complaint to the tourist police station (phone 01-4247041) or the local police station. If the officials here don’t seem to be very concerned, go to Interpol (phone 01-4412602) at the Police Headquarters in Naxal, Kathmandu. The process here usually takes about 2 days and requires photocopies of your passport, visa and a passport size photo.
In Nepal, cases of theft from hotel rooms in tourist areas and along trekking routes, is not uncommon. One way you could avoid thefts is by padlocking your backpacks and rucksacks.
