Kathmandu Durbar Square, which lies in the heart of Kathmandu city, is one of the three Durbar Squares of the Kathmandu Valley. It was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. Although there aren’t any written archives stating the history of the Kathmandu Durbar Square, it is believed to have been constructed in the 16th and 17th centuries.
